Blogspot.com is down

Well it seems even the big boys have issues from time to time. Currently Google's Blogspot.com is offline. This is causing us some problems, or more specifically causing Posties some problems.

When you make a post within the system, PayPerPost.com will automatically hit the blog to check certain criteria in the post. We also validate the URL of the post. With BlogSpot down this is causing PayPerPost.com to experience some timeouts and generally slowing things down (if we have a bunch of people trying to make posts in the system hosted on Blogspot, obviously PayPerPost.com is going to wait a while before it timeouts).

So, for the time being if you are using a BlogSpot.com blog we can't accept your posts. As soon as BlogSpot.com gets back online we'll be fine to keep working with Google Blogspot.com hosted blogs.

Sorry, on Google's behalf.

Pete

This is really a bummer since $50 opps are dropping as we speak :(

Ok, so this is why PPP itself isn't loading either???

yes Becca, it is. We have a large number of blogspot users. When they all try to do something, like look at their posts, make new posts, or when the CL team reviews them, it was causing processes on our servers to time out since BlogSpot was not responding. Normally we expect a server process to respond within 1 to 2 seconds, so if we have a bunch of people trying to have PayPerPost check out a site that's down it can cause some lag.

Will this change the status on the dashboard from pending payments to zero as well even if you submitted prior to this.

Mine's been up all day. It's not across the board, apparently.

It was up and running again within an hour.

I guess that explains why I lost my $50 opportunity today after clicking the button to reserve it.

I tell ya, it wasn't funny that Blogspot chose that period to be down and PPP also decided to refuse Blogspot posts.

Oh, well, there's always next time. :(

it was working fine with me but PPP slowed down when I tried grabbing at least one 50 offer...

Ginene has a point there - I noticed that the status of my last PPP post was suddenly switched from approved to something else.

That is, the total number of my approved posts was reduced by one.

Perhaps, that kind of error needs to be checked ASAP.

Well I submitted my first posts yesterday and they still show as pending under 'My Posts' but my dashboard shows I have 0 submitted, approved or rejected. Will this be corrected?

As far as the $50 opps, I bet I clicked RESERVE on 8 of them today and every time it would come back with 'all positions have been filled'. Which sucked. But it really infuriates me that I clicked RESERVE on the $500 spot and got the same message. Was this really because of blogspot being down? Or is that what normally happens? Since this was my first one, I am clueless..lol!

Hmm my blog is hosted by blogger though I'm on my own domain. Should I worry?

Is this why the $ paid that shows on my main page is less than it was yesterday? Or is that a separate problem. For example - yesterday in my dashboard it said Have Been Paid: $50, will be paid $45 - and now both numbers are lower.
